Project

Our client, a fitness-oriented family residing in a private estate in the Cape Winelands, needed a gym that complimented the modern aesthetic of their home. The requirements: that it’s equipped with comprehensive functionality to cater to the training requirements of various members of their family.

Solution

To strike a balance between sophistication and functionality, we selected equipment from premium brands, including SportsArt, Concept2 and AlphaState. 

For cardio, we selected self-powered equipment, including a SportsArt Elliptical and Concept2 RowErg, underscoring the client’s commitment to sustainability. Strength training is efficiently supported by space-saving SportsArt Dual Function machines and a functional trainer. The functional trainer is a value-add for any home gym, offering multiple push and pull exercise options with its versatile dual-adjustable pulley system.

The dual-function machines—multi press, leg extension / curl, lat pulldown / mid row—are designed to maximise functionality in a compact space, while plush upholstery and sleek finishes add a touch of luxury. 

Complementary functional equipment includes a SportsArt squat rack and adjustable bench, as well as AlphaState barbells and smalls. The AlphaState coloured bumper plates are a striking feature, adding a pop of vibrant colour to the space.

We selected the Sportsart, self-powered elliptical, which offers 40 levels of resistance for a low-impact workout. Another key selling point is that it comes with a lifetime warranty on its frame. Users will enjoy the built in wireless Polar® HR receiver and multiple language options (English, Spanish and French).

SportsArt DS972 Functional Trainer

This dual stack functional trainer offers a unique adjustable pulley ratio (1:2 and 1:4) giving users more workout and weight selection options. It is multi-functional and therefore the perfect space saver, packing a multitude of pushing and pulling exercise options into one sleek equipment piece. 

ALPHASTATE Coloured BUMPER PLates

These Olympic weight plates are ideal for weightlifting, powerlifting and general functional training. Manufactured from quality rubber, with a solid steel insert, these heavy-duty plates differentiate increments through standard competition colours.
