Oakvale Estate is a luxury estate in Franschoek, South Africa. The property forms part of the greater, international Oakvale Collection, where each property speaks to “elegance, exclusivity, and unparalleled comfort”. From bespoke interiors to active amenities, the settings are not just designed for guests but inspired by them, serving as a backdrop where family ties are celebrated, and unforgettable memories are etched into the annals of time.
Oakvale required a bespoke, luxury fitness facility that would not only meet the needs of its guests, but surpass them. High-end equipment would need to meet fluid and exceptional design to offer a unique user experience fitting to the Oakvale ethos.
Solution
Oakvale’s bespoke facility includes a comprehensive fitness layout in 102 m² space. The facility features multi-functional offering with cardio, isolation strength, free-weight equipment, functional training accessories, as well as a specialised pilates studio.
For cardio, both mechanised and air-based cardio units were included, to offer both traditional steady-state and high-performance conditioning capabilities.
In order to make the most of the space, carefully chosen SportsArt dual-function strength machines were added that offer a comprehensive, yet user-friendly circuit to train the whole body. Key pieces include a Functional Trainer, Lat-Pulldown / Mid Row, and Lower Back/Abdominal crunch. These versatile pieces extend training capabilities, without taking up more space. The free-weight outfit includes both SportsArt and AlphaState equipment and storage, bringing together two world-class brands, both offering maximum functionality along with sleek design. In order to place the Oakvale brand at the centre of the solution, key weightlifting pieces such as lifting platforms and multi-functional racks were custom branded, giving a distinct personality to the exclusive training space, while the entire surface of the gym is decked out with 15mm, high-density AlphaState rubber flooring.
An important part of this outstanding solution is the pilates studio. In order to offer users a truly unique experience, two AlphaState Pilates Reformers were included, with a dark chestnut finish, bringing a natural feel into the otherwise highly modern and sleek fitness space.

ALPHASTATE Custom Platform
The Alphastate Weightlifting Platform provides a dedicated space for Olympic lifting. The rubber surface absorbs shock and dampens sound, causing less wear and tear on your equipment and noise in your surrounds. The platform comes equipped with hooks to offer a versatile lifting space where lifters can train with rubber bands and other accessories.
ALPHASTATE CUSTOM MULTI-FUNCTIONAL RIG
The AlphaState Multi-functional rig was custom sourced and branded for Oakvale. It offers Smith Machine functionality, along with standard weightlifting options. With integrated storage and cable training system, this multifunctional rig saves space and enahnce the training possibilities of the space.
ALPHASTATE SPECKLED HI-TEMP BUMPERS
AlphaState Speckled Hi-temp Bumpers are manufactured from nearly indestructible recycled vulcanized rubber with a stainless steel insert. Coloured speckles in the rubber distinguish between different weight increments. They have a standard 450mm diameter and their low dead-bounce means that they are safe to drop over and over again. The low, quieter bounce, also means less wear and tear on your bumper plates, the Olympic bar, gym flooring or lifting platform.
SPORTSART DF-303 LAT PULLDOWN/MID ROW
The SportsArt Dual-function range offers unique push-pull designs, making them ideal product saving space. They combine two motions in one beautifully designed machine. The Lat Pulldown/Mid Row, for example, can be adjusted to strengthen your chest, back, and rear deltoid, in one easy-to-use equipment piece.
ALPHASTATE NEMESIS 20KG OLYMPIC BAR
he Alphastate 20kg Nemesis Bar is Alphastate’s premium Olympic Barbell suitable for athletes, functional, home- and garage-gym users. This 20kg barbell is manufactured from spring steel and has four needle bearings per black oxide hard chrome sleeve. Its 28mm diameter shaft sports dual knurling marks, making it useful for both powerlifting and weightlifting.
